The Left, The Qur'an and The Holy
It seems that the Left has arrogated to itself the ultimate power in human society -- the right to bestow or withhold the status of "holiness."
Consider the rash of stories on Qur'an abuse at Guantanamo Bay. Why is the Qur'an "holy" to major media reporters? The same reporters do not accord the Bible similar respect. They applaud the Bible's banishment from our public schools.
The media aggrandizes the Muslim idea of “holiness” much as it legitimizes the NAACP’s use of the word "offensive." If I say this or that is "holy," then you cannot touch it. If I say this or that word "offends" me, then you cannot use it. By this means, I control your behavior.
How the Left acquired this super-religious authority over our culture is a question that cries out for analysis.

A good start is Journalism:
Power without responsibility
by Kenneth Minogue
But here's my take. Journalism is blind to its bias, and the prevailing bias is the exploitation narrative.
To the journos, holiness objectively doesn't exist, and therefore is completely swallowed up into the drama of the dominant culture exploiting the underdog culture.
The media elites don't acknowledge or even realize they are de facto agents of the Left. Their blindness allows them to swallow dogma from the academy without a hint of gag reflex.
If you believe gender is a social construction, and freakin' physics is a social construction, then the sacred definitely is. The only things that actually objectively exist in the universe (to the media elites) are manifestations of dominant cultures exploiting underdog cultures.
