The Left = America's Brain-Free Zone

A group of ultra-moonbats from the Encephalophobic Left has launched the "Underground Action Alliance," founded by something called "Anti-Flag". Its main activity seems to be to recruit punk musicians to fight against the military and to sponsor the "Military Free Zone" campaign. They and their punksters want to define areas in which reps of the military are prohibited from exercising their free speech or speaking to teenagers about joining up. The UAA moonbats claim that there is a clear and present danger that the military will "violate young people’s privacy and aid the military in predatory recruitment practices." They prefer that teenagers listen to punk music, while ingesting recreational substances.

A "predatory recruitment practice" evidently consists of suggesting to a teenager that he or she might want to serve his or her country while getting some job experience that will fatten up the resume.

UAA's web page links to those of Al Franken, Mikey Moore, Ralph Nader, and Move On. They claim to oppose, among other things, sexism, homophobia, ignorance, and ageism. Ageism? In other words, they want to defend the rights of you geezers from the 60s to listen to obnoxious punk "music" instead of Oldies!

They are allied to Punkvoter.com, another group seeking to save the world by enfranchising punk music fans. Its web site recommends that its punksters read "The Nation".

UAA's other main activity to date is to sucker teenagers into buying its Tee Shirts, although their web site promises that they will soon deliver other "fun shit" (their term).

CNN and others have been piling on to the anti-recruitment bandwagon over the last few weeks as the military's recruitment efforst have come up short of target. Their goal: to force a draft in order to increase opposition to the liberation of Iraq.

Ha! www.punkvoter.com
Fat Mike from NOFX and fatwreckchords started this. Just for the "wreckchord" Fat Mike is a millionaire...so don't buy into the "street kid" hype. Anti-Flag sucks, and always has. If you dig them, make sure to check out Propaghandi...Vegan, homosexuals, who are always willing to defend the rights of some prefered "vivtims" group.
Fatwreck puts out some good records though....and I'm not sure why Billy Gould would align himself with punkvoter.com
It is San Fran after all.....

I remember cooresponding with the lead singer from Propoghandi a while back on one of the rec.music. newsgroups. The only good thing about him was that he was pro-life; everything else about him was obnoxious, hateful, and boorish. His post read like some mad thesis written on the walls of an asylum.

Punk and leftism have a long history, even though traditionally it's been more libertarianism/anarchism than liberalism. I really don't see what the Nation or Kerry would have to offer to them except some short-term adolescent "yeah we screwed the Republicans!" adrenaline shot.
