Call to New CAL Chancellor for REAL Campus Diversity!

The University of California at Berkeley has a new Chancellor, Robert J. Birgeneau. Now the Pacific Legal Foundation, which has led the successful fight to enforce Proposition 209 for nearly a decade, has issued a call to the new Chancellor, urging that the University of California, Berkeley, to abide by voters’ intent and not violate the law.

Birgeneau announced that one of his primary goals as the new chancellor is to lead a “call to action” against the “unintended consequences” of Proposition 209, which he blamed for the low number of minority students at University of California, Berkeley. Californians, Birgeneau said, “do not see what I see everyday on campus.”

Affirmative action is one of the stupidest ideas humankind has invented. It is a form of apartheid under which standards are dropped, supposedly to help members of certain fashionable groups increase their numeric "representation." I reality is merely reinforces stereotypes of inferiority. It is gross injustice, based on denying individual rights in the name of fabricated "right to representation" of arbitrarily-selected groups. It is also the reason why sons and daughters of black millionaires are granted preferences in admissions ahead of, say, children of penniless immigrants from the ex-Soviet countries. American dumbing down of standards in the name of "affirmative action" is metasticizing all over the Western world.

We have a suggestion for the new Chancellor. Interested in increasing campus "diversity"? Start with diversity of thought! Make sure that conservative political opinion is represented in all campus departments and schools, at least at a third of its proportion within the general population!
