A New anti-Terror SDS
Those of us old enough to have prostate problems surely remember the old anti-American extremist group from the 60s calling itself the "SDS = Students for a Democratic Society." That SDS wanted democracy of the sort to be found in the Democratic Republic of East Germany.
Anyway, now there is a new SDS worth noting, the Suspect Detection Systems. It is an Israeli high-tech startup that just signed a contract with US Transportation Security Administration, which is responsible for airport security. SDS produces a portable polygraph that can detect terrorists even when they are not carrying anything made of metal. A demonstration project is being implemented at a New Jersey airport. Passengers place their hands on a detector and tell a truth or a fib.
We expect the ACLU and other graduates of the OLD SDS to be up in arms at this infringement of the constitutional right to lie. Heck, who knows where use of the device could lead - maybe even to racial profiling!
SDS employs 12 people in a town outside Tel Aviv.

Lie detectors at airports?
Surely nothing could be better. Of course the technology behind lie detectors isn't perfectly accurate but if it does make some mistakes, so what if a few thousand innocent people are denied flights every year.
So what if people can be trained to fool lie detectors? So what if fooling lie detectors is taught to spies? So what if "true believers" can beat lie detector tests? So what if terrorist cells can recruit people based on their ability to fool lie detectors? After all, we are looking for terrorists and to stop just one is worth invading the privacy of everyone.
Why, this could be the start of a whole new world. Why stop at airports? Why not use lie detectors to buy guns and ammunition (we must keep guns out of the hands of terrorists) or to get a drivers license (car bombs you know) or when you give blood (we must prevent the possibility of spreading a plague with contaminated blood)? Who could object to be asked "Have you had sex with an intravenous drug user or, if you are a man, have you had sex with another man anytime in the past 20 years?" especially if the answers become available to every law enforcement agency in the country. After all, there is no such thing as a dishonest cop and even if there were no cop would ever stoop to blackmail.
Unless you have something to hide you can't object to a lie detector. And so what if the list of questions grows every year and if the answers are stored on tape so that any changes in your answers can be immediately checked? Remember, stopping terrorists is the number one priority of the government. Any one objecting to this policy is obviously a traitor and must undergo an immediate lie detector test.
Once you start this kind of nonsense there can be no end of it.
If American are willing to put up with this, then they deserve the tyranny they will get.

Airport screener: "Place your hand on the biometric pad and state your IQ."

Rest in Peace Jeff Weise
It has only been two days, and already I find myself nauseated by the herd's insipid villification of Jeff Weise, a good kid who wanted nothing more than a better world. Already, the crowd has begun fishing about for scapegoats, heavy metal, tenchcoats and 'neo-nazis.' This is, for the crowd, an absolute necessity. Otherwise, they would be forced to face reality, to look in the mirror and be honest with themselves, "These things happen because the society we have built is batshit insane."
Of course, being honest with themselves is the last thing the herd wants to do, so I predict we're in for weeks of lectures about "hate groups" and "violent" music and the pervasive availability of guns in the United States. What we won't hear about are the real causes: the vicious, vindictive response of the herd anytime someone dares to ask "Why have we built a society that lives for death, yet pretends death isn't real?" and the way it punishes those who aren't willing to trade their identity for plastic baubbles for the landfill.
I briefly "knew" Jeff when we both posted on the Nazi.org forums. He was a bright kid, and one who was angry (and had every right to be angry). Our society tends to produce three types of people. Most are sheep, they love, embrace and perpetuate the diseased system. Many people perceive that there is something fundamentally wrong with society, but for various reasons lack the strength to face it down. These are the burnouts, the folks that spend their lives living by the needle or crawling to the bottom of a bottle. Most of the rest of us make some sort of accomodation with society, while working to create a better world. A few people end up like Jeff, unable to come to an accomodation of any sort with society, and unwilling to simply fall into the embrace of addiction. These are the people society fears most, because they're the ones who eventually slaughter their classmates like the sheep they are, or send package bombs to the exploiters of the earth or fly jetliners into skyscrapers.
The herd will tell you that it is this violence that they simply can't comprehend, but that's bullshit. The crowd has never had a problem with violence. They're perfectly fine with mechanized mass murder so long as the victims are Palestinians or Iraqis or Serbs or anyone else the media tells them its ok to hate. What they cannot and will not understand about the Jeff Weise's of the world is that they stand for something more than convenience, more than the paltry "democracy" of cheap gas and strip malls, for something real, eternal and eternally great. Rest in peace Jeff, you died a hero!
