The Euro-Left's Financial Assault on Israel

The Left is not only pro-terror and hostile to Israel, but has been increasingly funneling funds into far-leftist NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) operating in Israel to undermine the country's defense and to distort Israel's internal democracy. Extremist organizations having almost no Israeli members are awash in funds provided by overseas NGOs not generally known for having Israel's well-being at heart.

Prof. Gerald Steinberg, who is also editor of NGO-Monitor, a watchdog agency, writes that:

"Large sums have poured in from the European Union and its member states to so-called non-government organizations in Israel for use in 'empowering Palestinians' and 'ending the occupation.' Jeffrey Halper's one-man NGO, whose agenda consists primarily of attacks against the 'apartheid wall,' and rhetoric aimed at undermining Israel's legitimacy, has received hundreds of thousand of dollars from the European Union. … There are numerous press reports on European funding for political parties, affiliated think tanks, and anti-Israel `human rights' NGOs."

These groups – and the EU officials who support them – are openly attempting to subvert the will of the Israeli electorate.
