Diplomatic Disgrace by EU Official

Louis Michel, former Belgian foreign minister and current European Union commissioner for development and humanitarian aid, visited Cuba last weekend and met with Fidel Castro. He remarked, "...during four hours I had in front of me a very kind man, very skilful and very healthy, full of energy, who seems to be wishing to make some headway with the European Union."

Very kind men don't imprison people for criticizing them, Commissioner Michel. Very kind men don't hold their countrymen captive. Very spiteful men do that.
