The Lord Haw-Haws of the Left, or, Geoffrey Perry's Peace Plan
Comrades! The time has come to give Geoffrey Perry his rightful place in history. Perry is one of history’s great unsung heroes. His act of courage illustrates how the world once dealt with the pro-terror professors and "intellectuals" of the West and perhaps how it might deal with some members of the anti-Western Left today.
Yes, comrades, in a few weeks it will be the 60th anniversary of the day that Geoffrey Perry shot Lord Haw-Haw in the ass. Let us all hold campus Geoff Perry Days this year! Invite some leftist professors!
Lord Haw-Haw was the Ward Churchill of World War II. He spent the war turning out pro-nazi propaganda that Hitler broadcast into Britain from Berlin. Lord Haw-Haw was born William Joyce in Brooklyn, NY, but was raised in Ireland. In 1934 he obtained a British passport by lying, and when World War II broke out, he moved to Germany and took German citizenship. He spent the war making radio broadcasts on behalf of Hitler. The British press nicknamed him Lord Haw-Haw.
Toward the end of the war, Lord Haw-Haw was trying to find a place to hide from the advancing allied armies. In the spring of 1945 he was wandering through a forest near Hamburg, apparently trying to make his way to Denmark, when a young Jewish lieutenant in the British army named Geoffrey Perry shot Lord Haw-Haw in the ass. (Haw Haw had reached into a pocket in a suspicious manner but turned out later to be unarmed.) Haw-Haw’s ass made a rapid recovery that allowed him to be hanged as a traitor later the next summer. Yes, Britain, the mother of all democracies, hanged traitors. It did not give them tenure at its universities.
Before moving to Berlin, Haw-Haw had set up his own peace organization in Britain, opposing Britain’s war for oil and colonialism, supporting the right of Germans to resist British aggression, calling itself the British National Socialist League. Geoff Perry is still alive in London today, leading a quiet life, relishing that ass shot.
Now HERE is a good homework assignment for undergrads at a school near you. Should Geoffrey Perry’s actions be a model for all of us struggling today against the Lord Haw-Haws of the American and Israeli Far Lefts? You know, those people who support bin Laden, rationalize al-Qaeda, celebrate Palestinian terror, and demonize Jews? The people who fill the pages of Counterpunch and similar outfits with anti-American and anti-Jewish propaganda? The people who serve as the 21st century Tokyo Roses and the academic Lord Haw-Haws???

There may be a middle way. I have done my share of shooting. I know the results can be unpredictable.
I would prefer that a bunch of street-smart tough guys simply beat the crap out of Dr. Ward Churchill and his ilk, of which we have plenty in my own university.
I suspect we would have to recruit off-campus tough guys. Most of our own students are Chomsky loving wimps.

Trouble is, Ward Churchill is much more a symptom than a disease. The real people who need to be shot in the nethermost region (metaphorically speaking, of course; I don't want some limp-wristed dope accusing me of promoting violence) are the administrators of the institutes of [choke] higher learning who allow their staffs to be corrupted with Churchill's brand of evil.
These leftist lame-brained administrators haven't a clue as to the constitutional meaning and application of free speech. They live in their isolated ivory towers, deluded into thinking their little clique is somehow representative of rational thought, unaware of the outside world. As long as the left controls the administration of universities, we'll be seeing a continuing parade of Ward Churchill copy-cats.

My reasoning for largely disregarding Churchill as an individual is that he's not worthy of any serious analysis. He's so totally void of reason that by himself, without the support and cover provided by the leftist university administrations, he is nothing except pathetic and laughable. No more threatening than any other loon standing on a street corner spouting deranged philosophy.
But placing him in a position where he is able to warp the minds of our young people is a dangerous thing indeed. This scenario is the doing of the administrators, self-important left wing elitists who set the agenda at our major universities. These administrators are the core problem. Eliminate the left-wing administrators' Machiavellian agenda, and people like Ward Churchill will melt back into their natural state of insignificance.
If you oppose this Lord Haw-Haw's support of Nazi Germany, do you also oppose the support of the Nazis by Prescott Bush?
It's amazing to witness the depths to which the left is willing to go in order to tar the President. Maybe Dan Rather could do a story on this.
Lord Haw Haw traitorously aided the enemy in time of war. Prescott Bush had financial ties to Thyssen/Germany before the war broke out, and one share of stock remained in the bank for which the elder Bush worked after the war began. Trying to equate the actions of Prescott Bush and Lord Haw Haw is a fool's errand. Might as well lump in Standard Oil, General Motors, and Joseph Kennedy, because they too had dealings with the Nazis.
Thyssen, Prescott Bush's client, broke with the Nazis after Krystalnacht, and in fact was imprisoned by the Nazis. That makes it rather difficult to link Prescott Bush with support for the enemy.
The Jewish Anti-Defamation League has issued a statement saying that "rumors about the alleged Nazi 'ties' of the late Prescott Bush ... have circulated widely through the internet in recent years. These charges are untenable and politically motivated ... Prescott Bush was neither a Nazi nor a Nazi sympathiser."
